Cookie policy
No cookie is stored until you say yes. Here is exactly what this site stores, why, and how to change your mind.
The short version
When you arrive, nothing is stored on your device and nothing is read from it. A small bar asks yes or no. Say no, and the visit is counted only as an anonymous number in a total, with no cookie and nothing that could point back at you. Say yes, and analytics starts measuring properly. Everything this site can store is listed below.
| What | Why | How long |
|---|---|---|
n17_lang |
Remembers the language you picked, so the site does not switch back every visit. It stays in your browser and never reaches us. | Until you clear your browser data |
n17_consent |
Remembers your yes or no, so the bar does not ask again on every page. It stays in your browser and never reaches us. | Until you clear your browser data |
| Google Analytics, through Google Tag Manager | Counts visits and shows us which pages people read, so we know what to improve. Stores a cookie only if you say yes. | Only after you say yes, up to two years |
Separately, our host's own counter (Vercel Web Analytics) counts every visit without cookies and without any identifier, so it needs no consent and cannot recognise you on a later visit.
What happens if you say no
The site uses Google Consent Mode. In plain terms: the analytics code is loaded for everyone, but it starts switched off, and your answer is what switches it on. Until you press yes, it is forbidden from writing or reading a cookie, from using anything for advertising, and from building any profile of you.
What it still does when you say no is send a bare, cookieless count of the visit. No identifier, nothing kept on your device, nothing that can be linked to you or to your next visit. Google uses those counts to estimate overall traffic. That is the whole of it.
Loading the code does mean Google's server sees your IP address and browser type, the way any file requested from another company would. If you would rather it did not, blocking googletagmanager.com in your browser or an ad blocker stops it, and nothing on this site will break.
If you said yes before and change your mind, pressing no switches it back off and also deletes the Google analytics cookies already sitting in your browser.
Your choice, and changing it
The language setting and the record of your own answer are strictly necessary for something you asked for, so they need no consent. Analytics is different. Under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations it has to be asked for first, and refusing has to be as easy as agreeing. On this site both are one click, side by side, the same size.
Changed your mind? Open the cookie choice again and pick the other option.
What we deliberately left out
There is no Meta pixel, no advertising tag and no embedded map. Apart from the analytics code described above, pages load only from our own site.
Tapping the address or Get directions opens Google Maps in a new tab, where Google's own policy takes over. That is your choice to make, and it happens outside these pages.
Third parties
Google Tag Manager, which carries the analytics described above (policy), WhatsApp, which receives your message if you tap a quote button (policy), and Vercel, which hosts the site and keeps standard server logs (policy). There is no advertising pixel on this site.
Turning cookies off
Blocking cookies will not break this site, because we do not rely on them.
